De Jong Packaging Group, one of the largest corrugated manufacturers in the Benelux, is now officially part of Stora Enso. This acquisition will advance Stora Enso’s strategic direction, accelerate revenue growth and build market share in renewable packaging in Europe.The acquisition of De Jong Packaging Group will begin a new phase of renewable packaging solutions within Stora Enso. On top of Stora Enso’s existing corrugated facilities, De Jong Packaging Group has 16 sites in total in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the UK. Most of the sites are corrugated converting and packaging wholesale facilities and together they produce 2,5 million boxes a day.

New pulp customer service and distribution logistics team at your service in Wroclaw
The transition of our pulp customer service and distribution logistics operations from Mannheim to UPM’s service hub in Wroclaw, Poland, was completed this autumn. All customers previously served by the Mannheim team are now fully managed by the new team in Wroclaw.The transfer went well despite some challenges in the process. With the migration finalised, our full focus is now on improved service through training and process enhancements throughout the organisation.

UPM proceeds towards the final phases in its growth project in Uruguay
UPM is finalizing the construction works of the new pulp mill in Uruguay and enters the final phases of the project. The start-up of the UPM Paso de los Toros pulp mill is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.While the project work continues intensively, the finalization of the construction works is an important milestone in the project.

UPM’s second Uruguayan pulp mill will start up soon. Once fully commisssioned, UPM will join the world’s leading producers of eucalyptus pulp.
Located amid the rolling hills of Centenario, on the southern banks of the Río Negro in central Uruguay, is the site of UPM’s second pulp mill in the country. When the first woodchips are fed into its digester, it’ll bring to fruition a project that has been in the works since 2016 and set in motion the production of 2.1 million tonnes of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp a year.
