Pöyry selected as corporate partner for Finland's centenary independence celebration

The centenary project celebrating Finland's independence, Finland 100, has selected Pöyry as one of its corporate partners. The approved companies will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to Centenary and its 'Together' theme, through their own actions, extensive communications and participation in social activities for the public good.Pöyry's main campaign 'My neighbourhood in 100 years' will be carried out with secondary schools. The pupils are invited to brainstorm - mentored by Pöyry employees - how the technological development will mould their surroundings in the 22nd century.
"We are inviting secondary schools from regions close to Pöyry offices to join the campaign", explains Pasi Tolppanen, CEO, Pöyry Finland. "We are hoping to inspire young people to take a look into the future and consider the impact that technological advancements and sustainable development can have on their lives - maybe even choosing to work in technology."

The majority of Pöyry's offices, present in 19 cities throughout Finland, will be invited to take part.

Other actions planned for the Centenary at Pöyry include the whole country singing the Finlandia hymn simultaneously and planting a hundred Centenary trees in locations around Finland.
